How many images do I need for a first model?

Start with about 50 labelled images per class. Add more where parts, orientation or lighting vary.

Do I need a GPU?

No. Training runs on the CPU in the shipped build. A GPU is recommended for faster training.

Does Model Bench need the internet?

No. It runs fully offline. Data leaves the PC only when you export it.

Can I use a dataset labelled in another tool?

Yes. Import COCO JSON, YOLO TXT or Pascal VOC datasets. Classes can be aliased on import.

Which edition do I need for Hailo or NVIDIA export?

Pro. Standard exports to ONNX Runtime on the ctrlX CPU.

Windows SmartScreen blocks the installer. Is that expected?

Yes, in 1.7.x the installer is not yet code-signed. Choose More info ▸ Run anyway.
