Data and security

• Offline: no internet needed; data leaves the PC only when the user exports it.
• The built-in service listens on 127.0.0.1 only; no network port is opened.
• User accounts with hashed passwords; the first account is the administrator.
• Data lives in %USERPROFILE%\AnnotationTool, outside the program folder; updates migrate the database and back it up first.
• Licensing through ctrlX WORKS: one seat while the app runs, returned at exit.
